How to Choose a Photo for Your Personalised Pet Gift
Your photo is the starting point for your personalised Fiorpaw gift. A clear image makes your pet's distinctive features easier to see. Use this guide before choosing a photo mug, framed portrait or shaped cushion.
For mugs and portrait-style gifts
- Keep the face in focus. Look for visible eyes, nose and fur detail rather than motion blur.
- Include the ears. Avoid a tight crop that removes the tips of the ears or part of the face.
- Use gentle light. Daylight near a window or outdoors in shade can make details easier to see. Avoid harsh shadows across the face.
- Choose a familiar expression. An everyday photo that feels like your pet is often a better starting point than a distant picture with a complicated pose.
For a full-body shaped cushion
The pose and outline in your photo guide the finished shape. Choose an image showing the whole animal, including the ears, paws and tail wherever possible. Avoid objects covering the body or a crop that cuts off legs. Fine outline details may be adapted to suit a sewn cushion; it is a photo-printed keepsake, not a sculpted replica.
Use the original photo when you can
An original camera or phone photo usually retains more detail than a screenshot or a small image downloaded from social media. Do not enlarge a tiny image and expect it to recover missing detail. Avoid heavy filters that change fur colour or hide facial features.
Follow the file formats and size limit displayed beside the upload field on your chosen product. If the upload does not accept your file, contact Fiorpaw before ordering rather than submitting an unclear substitute.
Check names and design options
Some designs offer a name, date or other wording; others focus on the photo alone. Complete the required fields and check spelling exactly as you want it printed. A mug's handle colour does not automatically change the colours of its printed artwork. Only the options shown for that product are included.
Choosing a photo for a gift or memorial
For a surprise, choose a photo the owner already loves and make sure you have permission to use it. For a memorial keepsake, the most meaningful photo may not be technically perfect. If you are unsure whether it is suitable, ask us about that specific product before placing the order.
